Description by the Park: “Learn about the
differences and similarities between reptiles and amphibians, along with some
interesting facts about them. Meet some of the resident critters at the visitor
center and watch them eat!”

the Shenandoah River State Park
Directions (about 15 minutes
from co-op):
Take 340
South from Front Royal. Drive eight miles; the park's entrance is on the right.
Hiking Shoes.
Strollers. Many
hikes are stroller-friendly.
Prepare for the
weather.
We will be outside
most of the time.
What to
Bring? A BAG LUNCH! Plenty of WATER!
How to
Prepare? Start researching and reading about amphibians
and reptiles! Also
of interest would be the local wildlife. The visitor’s center boasts a healthy display
of stuffed wildlife.
